A new direction

I decided to add something new to my "repertoire"...

A lot of customers have been asking for a distressed finish for their pieces. Here is an example of a dictionary/bible stand with a golden finish distress to look a bit older than it really is.

This piece is made of poplar. The tenons are through tenons and the piece will likely last until is is as old as it looks. I wonder what it will look like then?

Pieces like these can be made of more inexpensive hardwoods like poplar and alder. They are quite stable and still are made using my usual high end furniture methods. They are a tad more wallet friendly.

This piece is designed to stand in a room with no other pieces around, or it can fit flush against a wall. It would also make a nice lectern. to test for strength, I sat on it for a while. I think it will safely hold about 250 lbs. of books, should anyone desire.

I ‘m trying something new on my blog with this piece - it is for sale - or I can make another with a different color or wood or ??

Comments:
Clint, like the distressed finish. Some friends just did a whole kitchen like that and it looks great.
